The 6 m wide vertical JFe type boiler was originally equipped with soot blowers, which were later replaced by oxygen-based shock-pulse generators. Finally in 2024, these were replaced by three P-WAVE generators. Since then the P-WAVE generators are operated every two hours with similar cleaning efficiency and markedly lower operating and maintenance cost compared to the legacy oxygen based generators.

Based on these very positive results JFe-Engineering decided to use P-WAVE generators as a licensed product in Japan and India.
